These mismatched earrings depict a dolmens and a carved stone featuring a Triskele made of sterling silver and textured to imitate the look of ancient stones.

A dolmen, a characteristic sight in all corners of Irish landscape, is a type of prehistoric chambered megalithic tomb that consists of two or more vertical megaliths supporting a large, flat horizontal capstone. Most dolmens date to the Neolithic period.

The Triskele (also known as Triskelion or, in the context of Celtic Christianity, the Trinity symbol) is one of the oldest known symbols that appeared early in prehistory and continues to be in use to this day. From triple spiral at the entrance of the megalithic tomb of Newgrange in Ireland to Triskele shaped three hares on medieval church windows across Europe, the symbolic significance of a Triskele offers a variety of interpretations. Some of common connotations include underworld-human world-faerie world, life-death-rebirth, sea-land-sky, spirit-mind-body, mother-father-child, maiden-mother-crone, past-present-future, etc.

All Hare & Fern earrings come with two sets of safety backs, sterling silver and rubber, so you can decide which ones feel more comfortable for you.
